In the last few months, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has illegally overhauled its “SAVE” system, and its a big deal.

The system was meant to verify certain benefits, but it’s now being used as a massive citizenship check that pulls in inaccurate data from the Social Security Administration.
What does that mean? Millions of Americans, especially naturalized citizens, could have their personal information misused or even wrongfully kicked off voter rolls.
This change didn’t go through the proper legal process, and it opens the door to serious risks:
Privacy Violations: The government is using sensitive Social Security data in ways we never agreed to.
Data Security Risks: When massive databases get linked together, hacking and data leaks become more likely
Threats to Voting Rights: States are already using this flawed system to investigate or remove voters based on bad data.
Due to pro-democracy groups filing a class-action lawsuit, DHS is accepting public comments until Monday, December 1st. The overhauled SAVE system is a clear attack on our privacy and threatens the right to vote, and it’s up to us to make our voices heard.

You never gave permission for your Social Security information to be used for voter checks
The government has no right to repurpose private data without consent
These changes will hurt lawful voters and weaken trust in our elections.
