You have probably received mailers telling you that Prop 50, on the November ballot, is a threat to Democracy. And you’ve seen signs around Oakmont telling you to vote Yes on Prop 50 to save Democracy. What to make of all that?? You should receive your ballot by that date – What to do??

About the event
On Monday, Oct. 13, at the East Rec Center, the Oakmont Progressives and the Oakmont Democratic Alliance will meet to examine Prop 50 in detail and take questions on its implications. The meeting will start with a social at 6:30 and presentations at 7PM. As always, feel free to bring libations of your choice and light appetizers to share.
In response to President Trump’s demand that Texas gerrymander to gain 5 Congressional seats for his party, Governor Newsom decided to seek voter approval to temporarily redistrict California. At this meeting, we will have a presentation about the ramifications of a Yes or No Vote on Prop 50. All Oakmonters are welcome to join us, particularly if you are on the fence. Following a presentation and discussion, we will outline plans for the Yes on 50 Campaign.
