It's another election cycle and, as we did two years ago, it's time for Oakmonters to flip another Republican seat. This time it's CA-22 encompassing much of Bakersfield and its surroundings.

About the event
Randy Villegas, who earned endorsements from Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, defied political odds by beating a more moderate Democrat (who is now actively campaigning on his behalf) in a traditionally conservative district as a progressive Democrat.
But the big test will be against Republican Rep. David Valadao in November. This is considered to be one of the most critical congressional elections in the country as it will play an oversized role in determining the future direction of the Democratic Party.
With the help of Holly Near, the Oakmont Democratic Alliance was able to contribute $19,000 to Randy's primary race. Now, with the primary in the rearview mirror, we move on to the general election in November.
Like we did two years ago when we pushed Democratic challenger Adam Gray over the top in CA13, we are committed to repeating that performance this year.
