Good Trouble Lives On

This July marks six years since we lost Congressman John Lewis, and communities across the country are coming together for the Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action (July 17–19) to carry on his legacy by organizing, taking action, and registering voters.

In solidarity with Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action, Yes We Can Indivisible (Santa Rosa) is making some good trouble. Civic education starts with awareness. Dress as your favorite superhero (or create one of your own!) and join us on the sidewalk for our first of many visibility events between now and November using the theme “Voting is Your Superpower”.



Only signs encouraging voter participation, please. Some suggested slogans: “Voting is Your Superpower”, “Your Vote is Your Voice”, “Vote”, “Your Vote Matters”, "Protect Our Voting Rights".

The League of Women Voters, Sonoma County will be participating in registration and voter education.

Here’s why this matters: our right to vote is under real threat right now, and this is nonpartisan, people-powered organizing. No candidates, no parties, just neighbors coming together to protect our freedom to vote.

In the words of Congressman Lewis: let’s get in “good trouble, necessary trouble.”
